West Ham United vs Blackburn Rovers betting tips: Carabao Cup Third Round preview, predictions and odds

Match preview

These two clubs have met 108 times, although this’ll be their first clash in East London since Blackburn’s relegation from the top-flight in 2011.

West Ham United have played more matches than any other Premier League club this season, due to their Europa Conference League participation.

In that competition, they’ve won all eight matches, topping their group and going straight into the round of 16.

However, in the league, David Moyes’ men sit 15th, following Sunday’s deflating defeat to Crystal Palace.

Saïd Benrahma broke the deadlock, but Palace fought back and won 2-1, winning it in the 95th minute.

This means the Irons have lost three of their last four league outings, hoping to fare better as their League Cup adventure begins.

Blackburn Rovers meantime have already ousted Hartlepool United and Bradford City to get this far.

The Blue and Whites won this competition as recently as 2002, but haven’t gone beyond this stage for 11 seasons.

Right now though, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s team are second in the Championship, following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Huddersfield.

This Sunday, Rovers face league-leaders and Lancashire rivals Burnley, making this a huge week for the club.

In this tie, West Ham are likely to be just too strong at the London Stadium.
