Netherlands vs Wales betting tips: UEFA Nations League preview, predictions and odds

Netherlands have won all nine previous meetings with Wales, scoring 26 goals and conceding just six. This is the Dutch's joint-best 100% win record against any nation, alongside their record against Cyprus. Wales are winless in 22 competitive away games against sides currently in Nations League A, dating back to 1998. Oranje last lost any match at De Kuip in 2000.

Netherlands to win and over 2.5 goals is 20/21.

Netherlands to win and both teams to score is 11/5.

Memphis is 10/3 to break the deadlock and 10/11 to add to his 41 Dutch goals.

Match preview

Will Netherlands continue their fantastic start to this UEFA Nations League campaign, at least maintaining their three-point lead at the top?

Just six nights ago, Oranje travelled to the Cardiff City Stadium, taking a second half lead through Teun Koopmeiners' sweet strike.

Wales then thought they'd snatched a point at the last; Rhys Norrington-Davies equalising with a stoppage time header.

However, the Dutch went straight up the other end and stole all the points, courtesy of a Wout Weghorst header, in the 94th minute no less.

In all, Louis van Gaal's side have made a fabulous start to this group, first demolishing rivals Belgium 4-1 in Brussels; Memphis bagging a brace.

Although, at the weekend, Oranje found themselves 2-0 down at home to Poland and staring a defeat in the face.

Nevertheless, they scored twice in three minutes, Davy Klaassen and Denzel Dumfries on target, before being awarded a very late penalty.

Memphis, who'd converted 78% of his penalties, stepped up, sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, but smacked his effort against the post.

Despite only taking a point from this game, Netherlands remain top of this section, looking to end the four-game window with ten points on the board.

As for Wales, this month will always be remembered because they qualified for a first World Cup since 1958, beating Ukraine in the play-off final.

Around the excitement of this massive achievement, Rob Page's side have struggled for points in their debut adventure in League A.

They began with back-to-back defeats, both 2-1, first in Wrocław and then that aforementioned last-gasp loss to the Dutch.

At the weekend, the Dragons looked set for a third straight defeat when Belgium broke the deadlock at the Cardiff City Stadium.

However, with just a minute to go, Brennan Johnson fired home a dramatic equaliser, teed-up by Aaron Ramsey's impudent assist.

Nevertheless, if Wales are to survive in the Nations League's top-tier, they need wins, but claiming one in Rotterdam is certainly a big ask.

De Kuip is very much a fortress for Oranje who will be confident of claiming another victory here.

Netherlands team news

Louis Van Gaal made 11 changes for last midweek's trip to Cardiff, so could do something similar for the return fixture in Rotterdam.

Captain Virgil van Dijk hasn't featured since the win in Brussels, so could return.

Although, they do boast plenty of centre-back talent with Jurriën Timber, Stefan de Vrij, Matthijs de Ligt and Nathan Aké also in the squad.

Mark Flekken has started the last two games in goal, in place of usual number one Jasper Cillessen.

In midfield, Donny van de Beek, Georginio Wijnaldum, Marten de Roon and Ryan Gravenberch have all not been called up.

So, Frenkie de Jong is the senior man in there with Davy Klaassen and Teun Koopmeiners looking to stake a claim.

Memphis and Steven Bergwijn are the first-choice forwards, but Cody Gakpo could be rotated in.

Wales team news

Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey played 73 and 53 minutes respectively on Saturday, meaning both are unlikely to start here.

Rhys Norrington-Davies, who scored in the reverse fixture, won't be involved as he is serving a one-match suspension.

Ramsey came on in the first half for Joe Allen, meaning the latter will miss this one injured.

Play-off final hero Wayne Hennessey is fit and will start in goal, which is just as well because Danny Ward has pulled out.

Brennan Johnson's equaliser against Belgium should see the Nottingham Forest youngster given a start.
