Kazakhstan vs Slovakia betting tips: UEFA Nations League preview, predictions and odds

Kazakhstan are currently unbeaten in three competitive games, their longest sequence since October 2018. The Hawks are also targeting back-to-back home wins for the first time in 21 years, defeating Nepal and Macau as an Asian nation back then. Slovakia meanwhile are looking to win four consecutive competitive away games, last achieving this in October 2009.

Under 2.5 goals is 8/13.

Under 2.5 goals and both teams to score NO is 20/21.

Slovakia to win and under 2.5 goals is 12/5.

Róbert Boženík is 4/1 to break the deadlock and 6/4 to add to his five Slovakian goals.

Match preview

Seven days on from their historic clash in Trnava, Group C3's top two reconvene in Nur-Sultan.

Last Sunday, Aslan Darabayev's calm finish proved to be the only goal of the night as Kazakhstan won 1-0 at Štadión Antona Malatinského.

This was the Hawks' first competitive away win over a non-minnow, and Slovakia certainly didn't take it very well.

A couple of days later, Štefan Tarkovič was sacked as Head Coach, so Samuel Slovák will be in interim charge for this reverse fixture.

Slovák's tenure, however short, got off to a winning start on Friday night as Slovakia, eventually, beat Azerbaijan 1-0 on the road.

Veteran Vladimír Weiss coming off the bench to fire home the night's only goal late on at Dalğa Arena.

This means the Falcons have six points to their name, having also beaten Belarus on matchday one.

Tomáš Suslov's cross-come-shot the only goal of that one at Stadion Karađorđe.

Slovakia were embarrassingly relegated from League B in 2020, so are very much expecting to make an instant return to the second division.

However, to the surprise of most, it is Kazakhstan who are the current group leaders.

Before beating Slovakia on the road, they'd already beaten Azerbaijan 2-0 at home thanks to Abat Aiymbetov's spectacular brace.

Then, on Friday, they looked set to make it three wins out of three, leading Belarus with Aiymbetov on target again, this time a flick headers.

However, Magomed Adiyev's team couldn't quite hold on for a victory in Novi Sad, conceding an 84th minute corner that ensured it ended level.

It's worth remembering, Kazakhstan only survived in League C by the finest of margins.

As recently as March, they ousted Moldova in the relegation play-outs, victorious in a penalty shootout after the tie had finished 2-2 on aggregate.

Now, can Kazakhstan take a giant step towards League B by beating the group's overwhelming favourites Slovakia at Astana Arena?

Kazakhstan team news

Star midfielder Islambek Kuat was booked for the second time in this Nations League campaign on Thursday, meaning he is suspended.

This is a massive blow with Samat Jarynbetov or Vladislav Vasilyev set to deputise.

Abat Aiymbetov will continue to lead the line; all four of his international goals have coming in the Nations League, including three so far this month.

Slovakia team news

32 year old Vladimír Weiss was the hero on Thursday night, scoring the late winner in Azerbaijan.

However, he is now suspended having been shown a second yellow card after the final whistle in Mardakan.

So, Lukáš Haraslín and matchday one scorer haha will continue out-wide Tomáš Suslov with David Strelec leading the line.

Albert Rusnák continues to be key in midfield; he helped Seattle Sounders win CONCACAF Champions League last month.

With Newcastle's Martin Dúbravka out injured, Marek Rodák will continue to don the gloves.
