Greece have won 20 of their 30 meetings with Cyprus, including all six in the last 21 years. Cyprus have only won two of 14 visits to Greek soil, those wins coming in 1992 and 2001. Greece are aiming to win three successive competitive internationals for the first time since November 2019.

Anastasios Bakasetas has scored in both Nations League so far. He is 4/1 to break the deadlock and 11/8 to repeat the trick.

Match preview

Will Greece pull further clear at the top of this group?

So far so good for Gus Poyet's side in the Nations League, as they've won two out of two, both 1-0 and both on the road.

Anastasios Bakasetas the only scored in both matches to date, first against Northern Ireland in Belfast and then Kosovo in Pristina.

So, having now won eight of 14 Nations League games to date, Greece look well-placed to win promotion to League B at the third attempt.

The Sky Blue and Whites appeared at three Euros, two World Cups and a Confederations Cup between 2004 and 2014, famously lifting the trophy 18 years ago.

However, they've now failed to qualify for four successive major tournament, a streak they hope will end in two summer's time.

If Greece top this group, not only will they be promoted, they'll be guaranteed a Euro 2024 play-off place, which could be more than useful.

So, will the Poyet revolution continue?

Cyprus meanwhile only survived at this level of the Nations League by beating Estonia in a play-out in March, prevailing 2-0 over two legs.

So far this season, Nikos Kostenoglou's side have lost 2-0 to Kosovo, before Sunday's battling goalless draw with Northern Ireland, both in Larnaca.

This though means Cyprus have only won three of 16 matches in this competition, none of which have come away from home.

So, Greece should easily win this local derby at Panthessaliko Stadium.

Greece team news

Anastasios Bakasetas, who helped Trabzonspor win their first Süper Lig title since 1984 this season, is the obvious goal threat, having scored in both matches to date.

He and Georgios Masouras will continue to support lone front man Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Other key players include Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos and Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

George Baldock came off the bench for his international debut in Belfast before starting at right-back, chosen over Lazaros Rota, on Sunday.

Cyprus team news

Nikolaos Kostenoglou will continue to deploy a back five, featuring Hibernian's Alex Gogić.

Pieros Sotiriou will continue to be his nation's main goal threat, have scored 12 international goals, one of which came in March's play-out win.
