Wolves vs Southampton: Match preview

Since losing Raul Jimenez to injury, Wolves’ form has taken a major hit, however, over recent weeks, they are starting to find some rhythm.

Last Tuesday, they defeated Arsenal to the double over the north London club for the season.

Nuno’s side have lost just once in their last five matches and have moved into 14th in the Premier League.

They have also produced impressive performances at Stamford Bridge and against Leicester in their last five.

Their focus now turns to the FA Cup where they’ll be looking to at least match their run to the semi-finals back in 2019.

To reach the fifth round, Wolves defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 before beating also non-league Chorley 1-0.

Southampton lose their last four

Southampton are currently on a run of four straight defeats with their form falling off a cliff since their 1-0 win over Liverpool.

At Old Trafford, their confidence took a huge hit as they were thrashed 9-0 by Manchester United to equal their own league record.

On the weekend, they were again beaten by a struggling Newcastle United side who had won just once in their last 11 league matches.

They now find themselves down in 12th and the FA Cup will come as a welcomed distraction.

Ralph Hassenhuttl’s side produced an impressive display in the previous round to eliminate the current holders Arsenal.
