Everton vs Manchester City: Match preview

Manchester City managed to brush aside Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday to reach the last 8 of the competition.

City ended up winning the tie 4-0 following two 2-0 wins over the German side.

They will now play Borussia Dortmund in the next round and fancy their chances of going all the way.

Guardiola’s side remain in all four competitions and will be dreaming of an unprecedented quadruple.

Along with the Champions League, they are in the League Cup, currently sat 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League and face Everton in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Guardiola has an array of incredibly talented players at his disposal and it is no surprise that they have been able to fight on four different fronts.

Everton suffer back to back defeats

Everton’s top four hopes have been dealt a minor blow following consecutive defeats in the Premier League.

The Toffees were well beaten at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea before suffering a shock defeat to Burnley.

They were defeated 2-0 by Chelsea and 2-1 by Burnley leaving them in seventh and five points off the top four with a game in hand.

Carlo Ancelloti’s side did produce an incredible match in the last round as they eliminated Spurs, winning 5-4 in extra-time.

On the weekend they face the tricky task of trying to overcome Man City, a side who they have already lost to this season.

Guardiola’s men won 3-1 at Goodison back in mid-January, with Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva scoring the goals.
