Brighton vs Tottenham preview

The Seagulls suffered a 3-2 defeat during Saturday’s bitter M23 derby, as Crystal Palace secured a massive three points in one of the most thrilling halves of Premier League football this season.

Despite tasting defeat in South London however, Chris Hughton’s side have enjoyed a fruitful season as they close in on Premier League survival upon their return to England’s top-flight.

Hughton has his side currently sat 13th and seven points clear of the bottom three with just five fixtures remaining.

Just before Christmas, Brighton made the trip to Wembley losing 2-0 to Tottenham, as goals from Serge Aurier and Heung-min Son helped the hosts to claim all three points.

For the second time this campaign, Tottenham were humiliated by Premier League champions Manchester City, as they produced a lacklustre display at Wembley on Saturday.

The defeat allowed top-four rivals, Chelsea, to close the gap to seven points.
