Arsenal vs Slavia Prague: Match preview
Arsenal managed to exact revenge on Olympiacos for eliminating them from last season’s Europa League as they defeated the Greeks in the round of 16.
The Gunners edged past Pedro Martins’ side winning 3-2 on aggregate.
The north London club nearly made a mess of the tie as they were beaten 1-0 at the Emirates only for their 3-1 win in Piraeus proving to be enough.
Mikel Arteta’s side will have to pick themselves up from the weekend’s defeat to Liverpool.
They were trashed 3-0 by the Reds in what was a very lacklustre performance by Arsenal.
Slavia Prague once again head to the UK looking to cause yet another upset.
The Czech Republic side produced one of the biggest shocks of the competition as they defeated Leicester City 2-0 at the King Power.
Jindřich Trpišovský’s side then eliminated Scottish champions Rangers to book their place in the quarter-finals.
Slavia have proven to be a side capable of causing an upset and they will be looking to do so again on Thursday.
