Belgium vs Poland betting tips: UEFA Nations League preview, predictions and odds

These two teams haven't met in any international since 2007; Poland won when they last visited Belgium in 2006, ending a run of five visits without a victory, dating back to 1967. Before Friday, the Red Devils were unbeaten in 33 competitive home games, last suffering back-to-back defeats at home in 2009.

Both teams to score is 5/6.

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is 7/5.

Belgium to win and both teams to score is 11/4.

Dries Mertens is 13/2 to break the deadlock and 21/10 to score anytime.

Robert Lewandowski has scored 75 international goals against 32 different opponents. He is 11/2 to score first and 7/4 to add Belgium to this list.

Match preview

After suffering a surprise hammering on matchday one, will Belgium get back on track?

On Friday night, the Red Devils saw their unbeaten home streak come crashing down, and in some style.

They were hammered 4-1 by neighbours the Netherlands in Brussels, with Michy Batshuayi's 93rd minute tap-in scant consolation.

Some truly shocking defending was on show as Belgium were beaten on home soil in a competitive fixture for the first time since September 2010.

In 2021, Roberto Martínez's team missed out on two opportunities to lift Belgium's first-ever major trophy.

They crashed out of Euro 2020 in the quarter-finals against Italy, before a Nations League semi-final collapse against France last October.

This golden generation isn't quite shining as bright as it once was, meaning a fading force will be flying out to Qatar in November.

Here, will les Diables Rouges get their Nations League campaign back on track?

Poland meanwhile do have three points on the board, beating Wales 2-1 at Stadion Wrocław in their group opener last Wednesday.

The Eagles did fall behind in that one, but goals from Jakub Kamiński and then Karol Świderski saw them snatch the victory.

Like their hosts, Czesław Michniewicz's side will be at the World Cup later this year, beating Sweden in a play-off final back in March to get there.

In the context of this very competitive group, the White and Reds' primary aim is to ensure they are still a League A nation for the next iteration.

However, against a Belgium side drained of confidence, can Poland spring a surprise at King Baudouin Stadium?

Belgium team news

A miserably night for Belgium against the Dutch began when star striker Romelu Lukaku hobbled off just 27 minutes into the game.

This means the Chelsea forward, who's scored 68 international goals to date, is unlikely to feature again during this June window.

Who Roberto Martínez decides to bring in will be interesting; it could be Charles De Ketelaere, after he scored 18 times for Club Brugge this season.

Eden Hazard will captain the side with Alexis Saelemaekers, Leandro Trossard and Dries Mertens the other attacking options.

In goal, with Thibaut Courtois out injured, Simon Mignolet will continue to don the gloves.

With Jason Denayer also out, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Dedryck Boyata are set to continue as the back three.

Poland team news

Czesław Michniewicz's side have had a week to prepare for this game, a rare luxury, so will be hoping this'll work in their favour.

As always, captain Robert Lewandowski will continue to be the team's talisman up front.

Adam Buksa, who's been red-hot for New England Revolution this season, was chosen as his partner against Wales.

However, one of the more established options, namely Arkadiusz Milik or Krzysztof Piątek, could return for this one.

In goal, Kamil Grabara of FC København made his senior international debut last Wednesday, but Wojciech Szczęsny will be restored.

At right-back, Matty Cash could win his fifth cap, returning in place of Bartosz Bereszyński.

Leeds United's Mateusz Klich and Grzegorz Krychowiak will anchor midfield with Piotr Zieliński as the creative hub of the team.
