Belarus vs Slovakia betting tips: UEFA Nations League preview, predictions and odds

The only previous competitive meetings between these two came in Euro 2016 qualifying, both producing away wins; 3-1 to Slovakia in Barysaw and then 1-0 to Belarus in Žilina. Against teams currently in League C or below, Slovakia have won ten of their last 12, losing none.

Slovakia to win and both teams to score NO is 7/5.

Slovakia to win and under 2.5 goals is 9/4.

Róbert Boženík is 5/1 to break the deadlock and 11/8 to score anytime.

Match preview

After suffering a surprise relegation in 2020, Slovakia are looking to make an instant return to League B.

Two years ago, the Falcons finished rock bottom of their Nations League group, their sole victory coming against Scotland in Trnava.

So, overall, Slovakia have only won two of ten second-tier matches, but are likely to find victories easier to come-by in a lower division.

This is a side who've qualified for both of the last two European Championships which, by League C standards, is some pedigree.

First up, Štefan Tarkovič's side travel to Stadion Karađorđe in Serbia, with Belarus currently forced to play all home games at neutral venues.

It will also be behind closed doors due to the country's involvement in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

On the field, Belarus have won seven of 12 Nations League matches to date, missing out on back-to-back promotions by one point in 2020.

Conversely, the White Wings come into this one following seven successive competitive defeats, in which they shipped 22 goals.

So, Slovakia are heavy favourites to leave Novi Sad with all three points.

Belarus team news

Georgy Kondratyev is without star striker Vitali Lisakovich who has been left out the squad.

In his absence, the leading scorer in the squad is Yevgeny Yablonsky with just three international goals.

Slovakia team news

Slovakia's record cap holder and goal-scorer Marek Hamšík is no longer around having retired from international football following Euro 2020.

Tomáš Hubočan and Michal Ďuriš also retired last year while other experienced players Ján Greguš and Róbert Mak have not been called up.

Centre-back Milan Škriniar, who's won three trophies with Internazionale in the last 12 months, will captain his country.

Róbert Boženík and Lukáš Haraslín are likely to be the main goal-threats.
