Match preview

Austin FC are top of the overall standings after week one but will they stay there?

Well, probably not but Josh Wolff's side certainly enjoyed their opening weekend outing to start the new MLS season.

Cecilio Domínguez, Alex Ring and Sebastián Driussi all scored as they demolished FC Cincinnati 5-0 in Texas.

This is just Austin's second-ever Major League Soccer season and that is the club's biggest-ever victory.

In their inaugural season, Austin finished 24th overall and beating Cincinnati, the side who've finished bottom three years running, doesn't mean they're automatically a top side.

Nevertheless, the Texan club are looking like being more competitive this year so will the positive start continue?

Inter Miami meanwhile finished just four places above their hosts in 2021 in, what was, their second season.

The Herons are certainly hoping for better this year and began with a goalless draw against Chicago Fire at DRV PNK Stadium.

After an underwhelming display, particularly in an attacking sense, Phil Neville will be hoping to see more quality from his team this time round.

Will there be a winner at Q2 Stadium?
