Will Serbia break new ground at the World Cup this winter?

Since independence from Yugoslavia, Serbia have qualified for three of four World Cups, only missing out on Brazil.

However, at both South Africa 2010 and Russia 2018, the Eagles won just once and exited in the group stages.

This time round, after beating Portugal in qualifying, and then securing Nations League promotion in September, Dragan Stojković's team are full of confidence.

As was the case four years ago, Serbia will take on Brazil and Switzerland in their group, with Cameroon making up the quartet this time.

Their third and final group game against the Swiss on 2 December is likely to be decisive.

So, how will Serbia look in this friendly in Riffa?

Bahrain meantime have never qualified for a World Cup, winning just 34 of 94 qualification matches to date.

They have though qualified for six successive Asia Cups, so will feature in that competition in Qatar next year.
