Gamweek 30: We had a mare!
Gameweek 30 was a disaster.
We were far from the only ones, but it now makes for very difficult reading.
There were tons of clean sheets about but our goalkeeper and defenders combined for six points.
An assist from Eden Hazard was as good as it got in midfield. And, up front, the only bright spark was Jamie Vardy, who bagged a goal and justified our transfer in.
For fellow Romelu Lukaku owners, its worth noting that the big Belgian did not have a shot on goal at Anfield and continues to look half the player against the very best teams away from home.
A total of 33 points was well off the average of 40 and we have dropped down in the overall rankings to 61,613.
Not a total disaster but we are going to need something very special to get us in the top 5,000 which was our original start of the season aim.
With all the double gameweeks known and as our side is looking a bit weak all round, its time to wildcard – more of that below!

The 101 Great Goals league
A glance at the top of the 101 Great Goals league proves Gameweek 30 was very hard for even the top managers in the game.
Dalkieth Divided returned to the top and sits 322nd overall after a 37 point gameweek. Fielding only nine players looks like a mistake, to say the least.
And, we might not be the only players to wildcard in Gameweek 31!

Gameweek 31: It’s time to wildcard!
Now we have thought long and hard about this wildcard and it could be a freak out that could destroy our season.
Having a wildcard this late in the season should have meant it was used closer to a double gameweek, but our side just hasn’t done well enough of late.
And, there are plenty of players included that are playing double gameweeks.
This change leaves us with 2.8 in the bank to spend and we do have a plan of action that will likely come unstuck with injuries and suspensions.
Long term planning
Dele Alli in for Christian Eriksen would have been nice, but we have had the Dane for so long, so would have lost plenty of cash with this move.
Our key non double gameweek players are Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi, but Liverpool have such a lovely run now we are sticking with two key men for Jurgen Klopp, especially now Sadio Mane is out.
For Gameweek 32 we plan to bring in Sergio Aguero for Jamie Vardy and long term Manolo Gabbiadini will transfer in for Origi, when the Italian is fit again.
For double Gameweek 34, we will bring in Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Aguero.
It might be an FPL masterstroke or one of our latest poor decisions.
Alexis Sanchez gets the armband
For this week we go Alexis Sanchez captain (again), hoping to get a similar return to the last time the Chilean played against West Ham.
The transfer deadline is tonight at 18:45 with four games being played tonight.
It should be a fascinating midweek of fixtures!
