Eintracht Frankfurt’s shaky stadium
German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt last night faced Bundesliga 2. side Nurnberg in the first leg of their crucial relegation/promotion play-off.
The game ended 1-1 despite the Frankfurt support doing their best to create a figurative 12th man in the stands.
At one point the stadium could literally be seen shaking under the weight of thousands of bouncing Eintracht Frankfurt supporters. Is that safe?

Marco Russ’s nightmare week
Eintracht Frankfurt captain Marco Russ has endured a nightmare few days after testing positive in a drugs test. Further tests on Wednesday revealed the 30-year-old defender actually has a heavy tumour disease.
Despite the cancer, Marco Russ insisted he would still play in last night’s relegation play-off and he did so.
However, his nightmare week went from bad to worse as he broke the deadlock with an own goal in front of the home fans. Every neutral wants Marco Russ to score the winner in the second leg.
