There’s not much to split the two sides as sixth-placed Watford take on surprise package Reading – currently occupying third in the Championship – despite the Hornets currently on a run of three games without a win.

They will fancy their chances at home to Paul Ince’s side however, and having managed to keep hold of Joao Pedro throughout the transfer window they can expect their star Brazilian to kick on and lead them to a strong campaign.

It looked like it could have been a long season for the Royals after a 4-0 defeat to Rotherham in August, but since then a run of four wins in five 0- only broken up by a 4-0 loss to Sheffield United – has rocketed them up the league.
