Betting prediction: Swansea 2-1 QPR

Swansea are on course to finish in the playoffs, with a nine-point gap between themselves and 7th.

The Welsh side even have a slim chance of achieving automatic promotion, but their slim hopes of finishing 2nd will hinge on Watford losing to Norwich.

QPR can achieve a top-half finish at best, so there’s not too much riding on this for Mark Warburton’s side.

Swansea vs QPR: Match preview

Promotion hopefuls Swansea City welcome QPR to the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

Swansea drew 2-2 at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday. The Welsh side came from 2-0 down to rescue a late point. Jamal Lowe halved the deficit from the penalty spot in the 80th minute. Two minutes later, Swansea completed the comeback through Liam Cullen. Swansea are now unbeaten in three matches, having lost each of the previous four.

Saturday’s draw leaves Swansea in third and are very much on course to make the playoffs. That said, they’re six points behind Watford with four matches remaining. If Watford lose to league leaders Norwich, and Swansea beat QPR, then Swansea could still finish in the top two.

Swansea have the fourth-best home record in the Championship. The Swans have won 13 and drawn three of their 21 matches at the Liberty Stadium.

QPR beat Middlesbrough 2-1 away from home on Saturday, despite playing much of the second-half with 10 men. QPR took an early two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Robert Dickie and Lee Wallace. Seny Dieng was shown a red card just before the hour mark. Saturday’s win leaves Mark Warburton’s side 10th on 59 points.

Swansea beat QPR 2-0 at Loftus Road earlier in the season, thanks to goals from Andre Ayew and Jamal Lowe.

Steve Cooper’s side play Reading, Derby and Watford in their final three matches, while QPR take on Norwich, Stoke and Luton Town in their final games.

Swansea team news vs QPR

Liam Cullen should deputise in attack as star man Andre Ayew picked up an injury at the weekend. Ayew joins Steven-Andreas Bena, Paul Arriola, and Jordan Morris on the sidelines.

Jack Bidwell could also replace Ryan Manning in defence. Bidwell made 130 appearances over three seasons at QPR before signing for Swansea in 2019. Wayne Routledge and Ryan Manning were also previously on QPR’s books.

QPR team news vs Swansea

First-choice goalkeeper Seny Dieng was sent off against Boro, so Joe Lumley should deputise in goal.

Charlie Austin returns from suspension and could partner Lyndon Dykes in attack.

Tom Carroll, Luke Amos, Geoff Cameron and Jordy de Wijs are sidelined for the visitors.

Carroll made more than 80 appearances for Swansea before signing for QPR in 2020.
