Michael Beale’s first game in charge of QPR got off to the worst possible start as they suffered a defeat.
The R’s were beaten 1-0 by Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Lewis Travis netted the only goal of the game for the hosts in the 34th minute and QPR were unable to respond.
But it was also the manner of the defeat, as the London club managed just four attempts and failed to register a single shot on target.
Last season, QPR were making a strong push for promotion, however, they suffered a major collapse in the last few months to miss out.
This season, their aim will be to try and finish above midtable, with little reason for optimism right now.
On Saturday, they host a Middlesbrough side who will definitely have their sights set on promotion.
Boro looked very promising once Chris Wilder took over last season.
Although, they kicked off the new campaign with an underwhelming 1-1 draw with West Brom.
Wilder’s team raced into an early lead through Isaiah Jones, but the Baggies later equalised to snatch two points away from them.
