Regardless of Saturday’s result, Luton will be pleased with their league position with five matches left in the campaign.

Luton vs Watford: Recommended bets

Under 2.5 goals. Each of Watford’s last three matches has produced fewer than three goals.

Isaac Success to score. With Xisco Munoz tipped to rotate his side a bit, Isaac Success could start up front for Watford. It’s certainly a punt. The Nigerian is yet to score for Watford this season as his appearances have been limited.

Luton vs Watford: Match preview

Luton welcome Watford to Kenilworth on Saturday as the Championship season heads into its final few weeks.

Luton came from behind to beat Wycombe 3-1 away from home last weekend. Luton were 1-0 down at the break but turned things around in the second half. Wycombe went down to 10 men before the hour mark and Luton made the most of their man advantage, scoring three goals in the final 10 minutes of the match.

George Moncur, Kazenga LuaLua, and Elijah Adebayo were on the scoresheet for Nathan Jones’ side.

Last weekend’s win leaves Luton 13th in the table on 53 points, closing in on the top half of the table. Considering Luton finished three points above the relegation last season, a mid-table finish is certainly going to be an improvement.

Luton’s home record ranks 15th in the Championship. The Hatters have won seven and drawn six of their 19 matches at Kenilworth Road.

Luton’s last home game ended in a 2-1 defeat to Barnsley, although they have won two of their last four at home.

Watford extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a 2-0 home win over Reading last weekend, thanks to a first-half brace from Ismaila Sarr.

Watford remain comfortably 2nd in the table, on course to achieve automatic promotion. With five matches remaining, the Hornets head into the weekend eight points behind leaders Norwich, and seven points above third-place Swansea.

Considering their league position, Watford’s away form has been poor this season, with just seven wins from 20 away matches.

Watford’s last away game ended in a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough. Xisco Munoz’s side have only lost one of their previous nine matches on the road.

Joao Pedro scored the only goal of the game when these two sides met in the reverse fixture at Vicarage Road in September.

Luton team news vs Watford

Nathan Jones will be without Eunan O’Kane and Tom Lockyer who both miss out through injury.

Jordan Clark could return to Luton’s back four, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall then moving back into midfield.

George Moncur and Harry Cornick should return to the starting eleven after impressing off the bench last time out.

Watford team news vs Luton

Isaac Success could replace Joao Pedro up front as Xisco Munoz looks to switch things up.

Troy Deeney and Tom Dele-Bashiru are sidelined for the visitors.

Watford striker Andre Gray made over a century of appearances for Luton between 2012 and 2014, scoring 57 goals for the club.
