Match preview

6th are set to do battle with 7th on Tuesday night, when Blackburn Rovers play host to Watford in a highly-anticipated Championship showdown at Ewood Park.

After the weekend’s fixture list was cancelled owing to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, six outings are in line to play out on September 13th, followed by the same number 24 hours later.

Both Blackburn and Watford will head into the clash with sights set on a bounce-back result, with the former having slipped to defeat at the hands of Bristol City last time out, and Rob Edwards’ Hornets fresh off a pair of points dropped at Rotherham.

Blackburn will be hopeful of star man Ben Brereton Diaz adding to his haul of four goals for the season across the 90 minutes, whilst Watford, eyeing yet another return to the Premier League, look set to depend on star attacking duo Ismaila Sarr and Joao Pedro.

It is the Hornets who boast an altogether notable advantage when it comes to recent meetings between the two sides, having emerged victorious from all of their last three showdowns across all competitions.

This time round, though, we envision a stalemate in Lancashire.

101GreatGoals prediction: Blackburn 1-1 Watford
