Real Madrid are running the risk of dropping out of the Champions League at the group stage phase.
Just seven points from their first five games mean they are sat third in the group.
Zinedine Zidane’s side need to win on Tuesday to advance unless Inter beat Shakhtar, then just a point would be enough.
Madrid and Inter would then both be joint on eight points although Los Blancos’ superior head to head record would see them advance.
Should Shakhtar avoid defeat and Madrid fail to pick up three points, the 13-time European champions would drop into the Europa League.
Defeats for Madrid and Shakhtar would see the Ukrainian side enter the Europa League and Madrid eliminated from Europe entirely.
Following a disappointing start to their La Liga and Champions League campaigns, Zidane is under real pressure to advance.
Madrid are currently fourth in La Liga and trail leaders Atletico Madrid by six points, despite having played a game more.
