Woodward to hold conference call with Glazers after Chelsea game to discuss Van Gaal [Sun]

Louis van Gaal cut a rather hangdog figure as Manchester United prepared for their game with Chelsea on Monday.

Carrying his bags into the Lowry Hotel ahead of tomorrow’s game against Chelsea, there was an ominous look on the shattered-looking Dutchman’s face, with the prospect of the sack seeming to loom larger with every passing hour.

Having been absent from today’s training session, speculation was rife that he may have walked out on the job, but he travelled with the team, and remains in charge for the Chelsea game.

After which, the Sun claim a conference call will be held between chief executive Ed Woodward and majority shareholders the Glazer brothers to discuss what to do with Van Gaal.

And if the game ends in defeat for United, then one can imagine that being a very brief and succinct conference call…
