When Coaches Attack: Ankaragucu manager Umit Ozat slugs a pitch invader

Turkish football descended into farce and violence on Sunday as Ankaragucu manager Umit Ozat punched one of his own rogue fans as he ran onto the pitch after a goal against Manisaspor.

In the 42nd minute the hosts pulled level through Metin Akan’s equaliser. Immediately after the goal went in,home coach Ozat appeared to hype up the Ankaragucu fans as he raced out of his dugout and dramatically chucked his notebook on the floor before punching the air in glee.

Moments after slapping the air however, Ozat was slugging a young Ankaragucu fan who tried to run on the pitch.

Appearing to size up the pitch invader’s run to perfection, Ozat released a powerful right as the fan burst past him. The punch immediately grounded the fan, who was instantly surrounded by a fan and a home coach.

But then things turned much nastier. Umit Ozat raced around the the fan on the floor and began kicking at his target and attempting to stamp on his head.

Surely now a ban is imminent for Umit Ozat.
