The Times report on Friday that West Ham are plotting summer offers for Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole and Man City defender Micah Richards.
According to Gary Jacob, “West Ham United hope to take advantage of Sunderland’s likely relegation with a move for Lee Cattermole… West Ham also hope to persuade Micah Richards, the Manchester City defender who has one year left on his contract to move to London.”
The broadsheet claim that the Black Cats hardman will cost around six million pounds. Unfortunately the paper fails to put a price tag on the value of City defender Richards.
Both Cattermole and Richards appear to be well suited to playing at Upton Park, with both footballers known for their powerful and rugged style of play, which would seem to be perfect for a Sam Allardyce side.
