Wednesday is a momentous day for Liverpool Football Club.
23 years after the Hillsborough disaster, this week will see the release of the Hillsborough files which should provide a definitive narrative of what happened at Sheffield Wednesday’s home ground on FA Cup semi-final day of April 15, 1989.
In anticipation of the findings the BBC broadcasted “Hillsborough – Searching for Truth” on Sunday night. Now the flow of documentaries and insights has continued, with Liverpool FC and ITV both releasing more video content looking back at one of the worst tragedies in football history.
Liverpool have used their official YouTube channel to release “Hillsborough Family Support Group: We want full apology,” in which LFC TV spoke to Hillsborough Family Support Group chair Margaret Aspinall as the campaign for justice prepares for its latest chapter.

As for the ITV show, their one hour programme may have failed to shine any new light on the Hillsborough disaster however it nevertheless regurgitated many of the well-known horror stories and post-event commentary which has engulfed one of the darkest days in Liverpool’s history.
