Having gone through a rare injury free campaign, Robin van Persie caused concern amongst Arsenal and Holland fans as he was forced to withdraw from The Oranje’s training session at Wembley ahead of the friendly with England.
Due to a “very mild” groin injury it had reportedly been agreed between Arsenal and Holland that RVP would come off if he felt any discomfort.
Holland coach Bert van Marwijk said afterwards: “I am optimistic that he will play. We will have to wait and see but I don’t think it’s too serious.”
Of course, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be keen to have van Persie available for the crucial clash at Liverpool on Saturday after the Arsenal striker has claimed 33 goals in all competitions this season.
