England aren’t the only country who fear penalty shoot-outs. The Dutch are also completely useless from 12-yards.

Having seen their 1998 World Cup hopes torpedoed by Brazil in the semi-finals, the Dutch also have the unenviable record of having lost the 1992 European Championship semi-final, the Euro ’96 quarter-final and Euro 2000 semi-final in the penalty lottery.

But the Oranje army have a secret weapon for South Africa and it’s straight out of the James Bond book of gadgets. Albeit, there are still a few kinks to smooth out.
