The most tiresome transfer story of the summer, Cesc Fabregas’s will he/wont he move to Barcelona, took an other twist on Thursday as the World Cup winner finally reported back the the Emirates stadium for pre-season training.
Predictably, this has sparked a fresh round of gossip with some still convinced that Cesc will walk out on Arsenal. This is despite constant retorts from manager Arsene Wenger that his club captain is going nowhere fast.
According to ESPN, “the Spain international is expected to underline his desire to leave Emirates Stadium and return to Barcelona, who have courted his signature all summer. Arsenal insist their captain is not for sale at any price, but by effectively handing in a transfer request it will be harder for the Gunners to hold on to their star man.”
The footage however told a different story.
Sky Sports News were at the Emirates stadium to see Fabregas run out at the club’s media and fans day, and the 23-year-old Gunners’ skipper looked happy and comfortable as he ran onto the pitch, clapping waving at the crowd who were cheering him on.
