Back on the 26th of September, we published an article highlighting Partizan Belgrade’s up-and-coming playmaker dubbed “little Kaka”, 16-year-old Adem Ljajic, while also name-dropping his fellow midfielder Zoran Tosic (pictured). Two months later, and today both players have been linked with a move to Manchester United in articles in the Daily Mail and Mirror.
Recapping on some of the observations made several months back, Ljajic is an excellent technician and can play in almost all attacking positions in the team. The youngster is unquestionably one of the best talents to have emerged from Serbia in recent years, having all the qualities required of a complete, creative right winger or central attacking midfielder.
Yet Ljajic’s progression at Partizan has arguably been stunted due to the numerous attacking qualities present throughout the rest of the squad. And of particular note in this regard is 21-year-old left winger Zoran Tosic, who is in the form of his life this season.
Nicknamed “Bambi” because of his slight physically build, Tosic has hit the back of the net eight times already this term, being the same amount of goals as he registered all of last campaign. Several of his goals have arrived from set-plays, Tosic becoming a specialist at dead-balls. But his game is far richer than just being able to deliver a quality free-kick, as Tosic is also capable of beating his man and whipping in clinical crosses with his sweet leg peg.
Video evidence of Zoran Tosic in action can be seen here.
And for a final treat, this video compiles the best skills and goals from both rising stars, who could well be on the books at Old Trafford come the new year.
