Late Tuesday afternoon, AZ Alkmaar confirmed on their website that star striker Jozy Altidore had completed his move to Sunderland.
A fee of approximately £8.5M had been agreed between the two clubs on Friday. Today Altidore completed his medical and agreed personal terms.
The American striker is rumoured to have signed a four year deal with the Mackems following a fantastic season with Alkmaar in which he netted 31 times in all competitions.
Altidore spent a season on loan at Hull in 2009 where he only managed to score one league goal.
Sunderland manager Paulo Di Canio will be expecting a better goals return in his second stint in the Premier League.
