Two Persepolis players banned by Iran FA for “immoral” goal celebration

The Iranian FA have wasted little time in banning two Persepolis players, for a spurious goal celebration in their 3-2 win at Damash Gilan on Saturday.

Defender Mohammed Nosrati squeezed the bum of teammate Sheis Rezaei for one of the Persepolis goals (see below) and the former also reportedly “fingered” another of his team mates later on in the game.

Nosrati and Rezaei have been quick to protest their innocence, but reports from Iran suggest they have been indefinitely banned from entering any football stadia and are likely to face more sanctions in the coming weeks.

The Persian Gulf Cup match was broadcast live to a large football-mad audience in the Islamic Republic.
