Turkish wonder-kid Muhammed “Mami” Demirci scores a Messi-esque golazo in Besiktas training

Is this year going to be Mami’s breakthrough season?

Already dubbed the “Turkish Messi,” 17-year-old Muhammed Demirci – touted to be one of the best talents of his generation – has been forced to wait patiently on the sidelines for his opportunity at Besiktas.

With the likes of Quaresma, Simao and Guti having all been at the club in the past few seasons, the twinkle-toed upstart has been limited to just two first team appearances so far. That may all change however in 2012/13, and there is now a buzz that Mami could get his chance to shine for the Eagles in the upcoming Super Lig season.

Mami showed off some of his ability with a Messi-esque golazo in training on Monday.

Playing with his first team peers, Mami embarrassed several of his teammates by jinking past three players before lobbing the keeper with an audacious chip.
