Everyone knows that good old ‘Arry tells a triffic story. And the current Spurs manager had a group of his peers in hysterics after taking a trip down memory lane to recall his best Paolo di Canio tales collected during their time together at West Ham.
Appearing on ShowTime, presenter Rob McCaffrey was flanked by his guests Peter Reid, Steve Bruce, Phil Brown and Redknapp when he brought the subject of the fiery Italian.
Without a moment’s hesitation, ‘Arry began telling the story of how Di Canio once got into a face-off with Shaka Hislop after losing a match to Birmingham after the keeper blamed Paolo for moving in the wall. Unsurprisingly, the story ended the Italian losing his temper.
Not stopping for breath, Redknapp then told his favourite Di Canio story of how the Italian threw a strop in the middle of a match with Bradford, refusing to participate in the game and calling to be substituted, only for Harry to deny him his request with the forward going on to claim a hat-trick.
While the stories are definitely worth a listen, what makes them funny is the way Harry tells them.
