Borussia Dortmund and Germany playmaker Marco Reus is undoubtedly the most talked about transfer in Europe at the current time.
Reus looks almost certain to leave Dortmund at the end of this season following their poor start to the 2013/2014 Bundesliga season.
Marca splash with Marco Reus on their front page today and suggest its a straight battle between Chelsea and Real Madrid to secure the Dortmund attacker.
The Madrid-based paper even go so far as to suggest that Real Madrid have first refusal on Reus having previously agreed deals with Dortmund over the movement of Nuri Sahin.
However, Chelsea are now making a move for Reus in what Marca bill as a huge investment that could tip the balance the way of the Premier League side.
A clause in Reus’ contract will see him available to any suitor for 25 million euros next summer and Chelsea are reportedly willing to pay the German star 10 million euros per season.
Real Madrid are baulking at the personal terms being offered by Chelsea to Reus and this might well give Jose Mourinho the advantage over his former club.
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s hopes of signing Reus look likely to be scuppered by their transfer ban and whilst Bayern Munich are still keen, the player himself and Borussia Dortmund are sceptical about moving to the Allianz Arena.
