Nabil Bentaleb last played for Spurs at the end of August, in the 0-0 home draw against Everton.

On that day, Bentaleb started alongside Eric Dier in the Tottenham central midfield, with Dele Alli coming off the bench and Ryan Mason played behind Harry Kane.

Now, just two months later, even many Spurs fans have forgotten how good Bentaleb was last season alongside Mason in central midfield thanks to the great form of Dier, Alli and Mousa Dembele.

On Saturday, Bentaleb returned from injury, playing the second half for Algeria as they recovered from 2-0 down at Tanzania to bag a 2-2 draw in a World Cup qualifier.

Bentaleb replaced Ishak Belfodil at half-time and the Spurs midfielder was booked on 82 minutes played.

Algeria host Tanzania on Tuesday evening and Bentaleb will likely be involved again.

It now seems certain that Bentaleb will be available for Mauricio Pochettino’s side against West Ham in the Premier League next Sunday.
