Tottenham video special: The Dog Days are Over

Spurs fans are literally grinning from ear to ear following the 1-0 victory at Manchester City in the “60 million pound match.” There is nothing Tottenham supporters love more than transfer gossip and with “wheeler dealer” Harry Redknapp in charge it seems set to be a summer of endless speculation at White Hart Lane.

Quite simply we can expect to see every World Cup star linked with the Lilywhites with Joe Cole and Craig Bellamy the first names rumoured in the aftermath of securing fourth place. If it was up to this author, Redknapp should move for Edin Dzeko or Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as Spurs have struggled up front at times this season.

But, leaving the summer to one side for now, Tottenham fans, players and management are coming to the realisation that third place in the Premier League and automatic Champions League qualification is still possible. The annual “St Tottingham day,” when Spurs cannot mathematically overtake local rivals Arsenal has been held off until the final day of the campaign.

Tottenham will surely beat Burnley on Sunday but it seems hugely unlikely that Arsenal will lose to Fulham’s Under 9s to complete an incredible late season rally from Harry Redknapp’s side.

So how did Spurs get to this position? Thankfully we have some videos to help retrace some steps.

The first titled “Giants Awakening” with the soundtrack “The Dog Days are Over,” can be seen here.

Next up is a compilation of Tottenham’s last important games before the win at Manchester City, including victories over Arsenal, Chelsea and Bolton, can be seen here.

Finally, if you were wondering would be the reaction of Hitler to Spurs beating Arsenal to third place after the Gunners defeat at Blackburn, then watch here.
