Time to abandon 3-5-2? Best Tweets as Man United draw 0-0 at Burnley, still without a win!

2 points after 3 games: never mind Champions League qualification, Man United are enjoying some real relegation from in the early stages of the Premier League season.

Including the Capital One Cup nightmare, that’s 4 games in total, and still no win for Man United this season.

Everyone knew it would take time for Van Gaal to get his ideas and system across, but no one expected this.

Is it time for Van Gaal to abandon his favoured 3-5-2 system, that which he’s stubbornly clung to throughout his career.

For a club that’s traditonally played 4-4-2 throughout its hisotry, was it really realistic to just expect the United players to convert to this system? Shouldn’ he be more adaptable?

Perhaps the most remarkable moment of the match was the sight of record signing Angel Di Maria being replaced by….Anderson (though Di Maria may have picked up a slight injury).

That said, United improved greatly in the 2nd half – it would have been difficult not to – and could have nicked it at the end, when Ashley Young was denied a penalty for a clear handball from a Burnley defender (but then it was Ashley Young).

On the plus side for United, they did keep a clean sheet. That’s something.

A propos of nothing, what’s happened to Juan Mata?!
