Thierry Henry injures Kevin Hartman with completely unnecessary celebration (FC Dallas-New York Red Bulls)

Thierry Henry hasn’t been playing in the MLS for long yet he has now been involved in a quite bizarre incident during New York Red Bulls’ 2-2 draw at FC Dallas on Thursday night.

After Mehdi Ballouchy had equalised for the side from the Big Apple, Henry went “to smash the ball back into the net like I do sometimes.”

TH14 didn’t see Hartman go for the ball and collided with FC Dallas keeper Kevin Hartman who twisted his knee. Henry was somewhat fortunate that the referee didn’t see the incident as he was already on a yellow card.

Hartman meanwhile suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament and will miss the next game. Henry said: “I went to apologize because I didn’t mean to hurt him, a pure accident. I told him I was sorry. He accepted it. It was one of those stupid things.”
