Former Arsenal striker turned Sky Sports pundit, Thierry Henry has hailed the performance of Olivier Giroud, after the Frenchman scored in the Gunners’ 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Sunday.
The Arsenal striker scored from the penalty sport early in the match, to give Arsenal the lead, before Aaron Ramsey added a second in the first 45 minutes to send Arsene Wenger’s side 2-0 up at the break.
Although Aston Villa got marginally better, Arsenal were in cruise control throughout the second half, and the victory takes Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table.
After the match, Thierry Henry, who is Arsenal’s record goalscorer was quick to praise the current Gunners front man Giroud for a job well done.
“For me he was my man of the match” Henry said on Sky Sports.
If it was any other player doing this it would be all over social media.”
Following on from a hat-trick in midweek against Olympiakos in the Champions League, Olivier Giroud’s all round performance today at Villa Park, seems to suggest the striker is in real confident mood at the moment.
If Giroud can continue his fine form for the Gunners, then Arsenal could be the side lifting the Premier League title come May 2016.
