As football fans begin scratching around for things to do as long summer days without the beautiful game start to set in, one favourite pastime is for compilation videos to spout up collating the highlights of specific popular players.
As such, we are happy to bring you three excellent videos.
First, despite maintaining his big-time bottler status over the past 12 months for failing to reach any heights in the big matches, without question the 2008/09 season was a huge success for Inter’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Scoring 25 Serie A goals, including some spectacular strikes, the Swede looked imperious for most of the campaign under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
Highlights of all of Zlatan’s goals from the 2008/09 season can be seen here.
Liverpool’s year ended in moderate disappointment, the Anfield giants failing to scoop any silverware although the Reds’ emerged from the season’s end after having had their best domestic campaign for years in which they stood out as the main title challengers to Manchester United. On an individual level, Dirk Kuyt continued to impress on Merseyside, the Dutchman chalking up 49 appearances including 15 goals and 12 assists.

Lastly, the “Zarate Kid” has seen his reputation grow even further after yet another awesome 12 months. The former Birmingham forward, who remains one of the hottest young talents at just 22-years old, spent last season on loan at Lazio from Qatari club Al-Sadd, winning over the Italian critics after an impressive debut season. Having scored 13 goals this season, as well as chipping in with six assists, Zarate future though remains in doubt as several clubs are waiting to pounce should the Romans fail to reach a deal with the young Argentine.
