In the end, the final twist of drama we were all hoping for, even just to prolong the suspense for a bit, never materialized.
An early West Ham or even Liverpool goal could have injected a bit of drama into proceedings, but with Newcastle scoring against Liverpool first, City were put at ease, and went on the cruise into a 2-0 lead.
So Manchester City reclaim the title from their city rivals United, making it 2 out of 3 after their 2012 win.
Perhaps because City have been so business-like or because it all seemed so unlikely that anything unexpected would happen today, it all feels a little anti-climactic.
Nonetheless, congratulations to Manchester City!
Ultimately football wins, best football in the league positions 1-2, shit football that costs a fortune, 3rd position…

Newcastle fans lustily cheer announcement that City have won the league. Bit of harmless needle between the fans all game on it.

Thanks Liverpool. Without you this season wouldn't have been half as funny.

City deserving champions. Some of their football this season has been breathtaking. Think they will be even better next season, too.
