Ex-Newcastle and Manchester United legend Andrew Cole was the first guest on the show, with Helen opening their chat with a discussion about Cole’s name change. Cole explained how he was once asked what his parents call him, to which he replied Andrew, with the media then running away with the soundbite to claim that he no longer wanted to be referred to as Andy. Cole talked about ending his football career, saying it was an easy decision once he made his mind up, before conversation turned to United’s Champions League win in ’99, when Cole was subbed in the 81st minute of the match.
Actress Tamzin Greig, from the TV show “The Green Room,” was the second celebrity to park down on the sofa. Helen praised the actress for her part in the show, flagging up the numerous funny women who make up the show. And the last guest was Simple Minds lead-singer Jim Kerr, who began by ranting at his unhappiness at finally being asked to the show. After then plugging his new album, Helen and Max revisited the iconic Sky Sports’ ad using the Simple Minds’ classic “Alive & Kicking.”
