Snubbed for the World Cup, LA Galaxy striker Landon Donovan breaks the MLS all-time scoring record [Video]

Landon Donovan has not taken long to remind American soccer fans why his omission from the US World Cup squad is so controversial.

Donovan, 32, broke the MLS’ all-time scoring record on Sunday night as he scored a double in 4-1 win against the Philadelphia Union.

After bagging his brace, Donovan moved onto 136 goals in the American top flight, to become the new MLS all-time goal king.

Noticeably, after scoring his second goal, fans in the crowd started chanting “USA! USA!”
