Fantastic! Amazing! Ridonkulous!
The third round of the Hungarian first division produced a world-class moment as Honved defender Ivan Lovric saved a Videoton penalty in the final seconds of the contest.
The background to the incident was simple enough.
Honved were on course for the three points after Boris Zivanovic scored in the 11th minute, but in the final moments of the match their was a twist.
Right at the death, former Crystal Palace and Magyar international forward Sander Torghelle was hauled down by Honved keeper Szabolcs Kemenes in the box, and not only was a penalty awarded but the goalie was also immediately sent off.
Honved, having already used all their subs, were forced into putting 27-year-old Croatian defender Ivan Lovric between the sticks, and it appeared a foregone conclusion that the match would end all-square. But it didn’t.
After Videoton’s Nemanja Nikolic took responsibility from 12-yards, Ivan Lovric dove low to his right hand side and brilliantly turned the spot-kick aside.

Although rare, a handful of outfield players have also saved penalties in dramatic circumstances.
The fete was accomplished by just last season in Meixco when Pachuca midfielder Juan Rojas saved a penalty against Morelia. Looking further back, Niall Quinn made a famous save for Manchester City against Derby way back in 1991.
