Chelsea are rejoicing at finally ridding themselves of Andriy Shevchenko, who, if you need reminding cost the Blues a whopping £30m when he signed in 2006 from AC Milan on a reported £130,000-a-week contract. After scoring just nine league goals for the Blues in two and a half years, and labelled the most expensive flop in Premier League history, having the Ukrainian off the Stamford Bridge books and shuttled back to where he came from is a sorry end to a sorry saga.
From an Italian perspective however, the buzz around Shevchenko’s return to the Rossoneri has been feverish, with crowds mobbing the goal-shy striker on his first appearance back in Italy (see the footage ).
YouTuber “ksa4eve” is on a mission to refresh Milanese followers exactly why the should be rejoicing the return of Shevchenko, collecting the top 100 goals (from the 127 goals available) scored by the striker during his seven year spell at the start of the century.
Whether Shevchenko can do it again is questionable, but without doubt he was the best striker in Serie A back in the day. The goals can be seen here:
