The noise about China trying to lure Wayne Rooney to the Orient is getting louder by the week.
The story first came up towards the end of 2015, and at the time many United fans appeared happy to let their captain leave, given how poorly he was playing.
But fast forward a couple of months, and Rooney is returning to really good form (albeit he’s just had an injury setback), so this fresh report from the Mirror will probably have United fans fretting.
According to the tabloid, Shanghai Shenhua – the Chinese club who bought Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka some years ago – have tabled a 27m pound bid for Wazza, and are willing to pay him a mouth-watering 500,000 pounds a week in a 3 year deal.
After splurging millions on mid-range stars last January, the Chinese Super League want to make the United and England skipper the face of their revamped brand.
