Once again Sergio Busquets found himself at the centre of controversy on Saturday night for Barcelona.
Just days after the midfielder enforcer played peekaboo while getting Inter Milan’s Thiago Motta sent off in the Champions League (watch here), Busquets found himself dodging hot water again as he picked up two yellow cards against Villarreal but amazingly managed to avoid collecting his marching orders.
Referee Fernando Teixeira Vitienes first booked Busquets in the 62nd minute when he used his arm to block a Giuseppe Rossi pass in the middle of the pitch. The, in the 79th minute, a second yellow was flashed in Busquets face for an off-the-ball incident, however for some bizarre reason the player was never forced off the pitch.
Making sure the error was swept under the carpet, Pep Guardiola then substituted Busquets for Yaya Toure moments later, and the Catalans were left to finish the match with eleven men on the pitch.
