There hasn't been a penalty scored as fast as Aguero's (72 seconds) in the PL since 22.10.1994 (Pearce vs. AVilla)

When Vurnon Anita fouled Edin Dzeko in the Newcastle box within the first minute at the Etihad on Saturday, statisticians everywhere had to check for the quickest penalties in England’s top flight.
Sergio Aguero fired Manchester City ahead in the first minute against Newcastle and Manuel Pellegrini’s side never looked back as they chased down Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Premier League to five points.
It was left to the always awesome Mister Chip, a Spaniard who works for AS, to bring us the news that this was the fastest penalty in the Premier League for over twenty years.
The scorer of the fastest penalty in Premier League history was Stuart Pearce for Nottingham Forest in a 2-0 win at Aston Villa on October 22, 1994.
Forest would go on to win 2-0 at Villa Park with Steve Stone scoring the other goal.
Stone was on the Newcastle bench for their pathetic performance at the Etihad on Saturday.
