Schalke deny they have received any bids for Arsenal target Julian Draxler, who is out for 10 days

The noise surrounding Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler and a potential move to Arsenal has been increasing heavily over the past couple of days.

According to this morning’s Daily Mail, Arsenal are preparing a 37 million pound move for Draxler who is believed to favour a move to the Emirates.

But, as Sky Sports Germany pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft, who is all over these rumours, points out on Wednesday morning, Schalke’s general manager Horst Heldt has come out publicly and said no bid has been made.

In addition, rumours have been swirling that Julian Draxler is injured for three months, but this has also been rubbished by Schalke as can be seen from the Tweets above.

All this noise, combined with the fact Schalke may be close to signing Lewis Holtby from Spurs, does suggest the Bundesliga side are keen to sell their star asset.

But, whether Arsene Wenger will move for Draxler in the January transfer window seems unlikely.

Some intriguing Tweets from Bundesliga expert Rafa Honigstein also shed light on the Julian Draxler to Arsenal situation.
