Saturday sitters: John Terry (Chelsea-Hull) v Ryan Babel (Portsmouth-Liverpool)

For some reason, these horror misses in the Premier League this season seem to come in twos.

First up, in the blue corner, is John Terry, guilty of scooping his effort over the bar when faced with an open goal in just the second minute of Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Hull yesterday.

The fact that the Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side failed to break down the Tigers defence must add to Terry’s frustration.

But the England captain was joined by another culprit during the tea time kick off yesterday. Early in the second half with the score deadlocked at 0-0 at Fratton Park, Yossi Benayoun beat two men, played in Dirk Kuyt who crossed for Ryan Babel who, well, he missed the ball.

This sitter could no doubt be forgotten due to Liverpool’s terrific comeback but the finger should be pointed at the Dutchman for this one.

So the question is, which was worse?
