Over in South America on Tuesday night, Brazilian side Sao Paulo claimed a 1-0 win over Chilean club Huiachipato in the Copa Sudamericana.
Sao Paulo, however, had to win the match the hard way after they were reduced to 10 men midway through the first half.
Former Brazilian international striker Luis Fabiano let down his teammates badly when the 33-year-old centre-forward collected his marching orders after his stupidly hit a Huiachipato player in the head, right under the nose of the referee.
Luis Fabiano’s behaviour was uncalled for and violent, and thus it was no surprise when he was sent off.
